Usik spoke out about the end of his career
WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Alexander Usik (20-0, 13 KOs) is not going to end his professional career yet. According to the 35-year-old Crimean he has a goal that he and his team are going to reach.
At the same time, Alexander expressed confidence that even if he hangs up his "gloves on the nail", boxing will not go anywhere from his life.
"As long as I have a specific goal. It's the ultimate championship, yes. We'll see from here on out. But even if my professional career is over, boxing isn't going anywhere out of my life. Right now we are developing a new, unique project Ready to Fight, which unites everyone involved in the world of boxing, solving their problems. And, at least for the sake of that, I will continue to be in this environment and help newbies and established professionals. I'm sure we'll succeed," Vringe quoted Usik as saying.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Usik's fight against Fury for the outright championship was derailed. On March 10, Tyson delivered a tough ultimatum to the team of the Ukrainian. The native of Manchester, demanded 70% of the fee for the fight, and also said that he would add one percent for every 24 hours before the signing of the contract.
Alexander immediately agreed to the British man's terms, making him a pro-Ukrainian demand.
In response, Tyson came up with a new demand, proposing to our compatriot to exclude the rematch clause from the contract for the bout for the title of the absolute world heavyweight champion and to change the distribution of the fee.
Usik could not bear such humiliation and refused to indulge Tyson's whims by cancelling the fight. After that, Fury went berserk, posting a minute-long video that contained a lot of swearing.
Later, Sascha named the fantastic amount of money Fury wanted to earn for the April 29 fight.
