Ukraine qualifies for the Paris Olympics

For the first time in its history, Ukraine's national football team will compete at the Olympic Games. This was made possible after coach Ruslan Rotan's men defeated France in the quarter-finals of the 2023 UEFA European Youth Championship, which is currently taking place in Romania and Georgia.

After conceding a goal in the 19th minute, the Blue and Yellows managed to take the lead before the break and scored the third goal at the end of the game, which removed all questions about the winner. Given that the English had won their match against Switzerland, the Ukrainians guaranteed themselves a trip to Paris.

Thanks to our team's progress to the semi-finals of Euro 2023, representatives of Israel and Spain will also go to the 2024 Olympics, with whom the Ukrainians will compete in the battle for a ticket to the decisive match of the continental championship.

It is worth noting that Ukraine has managed to become a medalist at the Summer Olympics only once in the game sports. At the 2004 Games in Athens, our compatriots took bronze in the handball tournament.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Russian propagandists disgraced themselves with "anti-Ukrainian protests" at the 2023 European Youth Football Championship.
