The detention of former world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk at the Krakow airport caused a strong reaction among Ukrainian fans. The sudden arrest of our compatriot looked very strange, given that in three months he was scheduled to fight Tyson Fury.

On social media, boxing fans and ordinary Ukrainians exploded with memes about this. Of course, they immediately jokingly accused the Polish border guards of revenge for the fact that on September 17, the day of his arrest, eight years ago, Oleksandr beat Krzysztof Glowacki and won his first championship belt in the professional ring.

Fans also ironically suggested that Usyk was smuggling grain in his boxing gloves, which is why he was detained by the Poles. Many began to assume that the athlete appeared in Krakow in the guise of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, in which he went to the fight against Fury on May 18, which caused a stir among the border guards.
