"To spit on them": Russian Z-champion calls for boycott of 2024 Games after saying "grief is when a mother loses her son"

The President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (RRF), Yelena Välbe, has called on Russian athletes to boycott the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime called the refusal to compete an adequate solution when "a mother loses her son," which the official at the same time fiercely supports.

Välbe said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency R-Sport. The three-time Olympic champion in relay racing added that Russian athletes in the security forces are allegedly subject to biased conditions of admission.

"They immediately identified those who agree with the government and specifically with the president of our country on the issue of 'whose Crimea is it?' or whether you have relations with the security forces, such as Dynamo, CSKA, etc. We should not refrain from going to the Olympics, but spit on them. The athletes are our children, and we have to convey everything to them and explain it properly. It's bitter that we won't be going to the Olympics, but it's not grief. Grief is when a mother loses her son, that's grief," said Välbe.

Earlier, she expressed the absurd idea that foreign athletes are afraid to compete with representatives of the Russian Federation because of fear. In addition, in a patriotic frenzy, Välbe said that the West looks at the Spartakiad in Russia with envy, for which she was harshly ridiculed by a Norwegian journalist.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Russian gymnastics team, saying "we were brought to our knees," refused to perform at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in neutral status.
