Usyk was detained in Krakow

The Russian propaganda outlet "Soviet Sport" has senselessly returned to the topic of the incident with Oleksandr Usyk at Krakow Airport. On September 17, our compatriot was detained by Polish border guards, but later released along with a friend of the boxer.

The pseudo-journalists, citing an "anonymous source in the border guard service," said that the reason for Usyk's short-term arrest was the boxer's friend's state of severe intoxication, without whom Oleksandr refused to board the plane. In addition, Russian propaganda accused our compatriots of speaking Ukrainian.

"Usyk and his friend showed aggressive behavior, threatened border guards, and Usyk's friend posed a security threat. They also refused to cooperate with Polish police officers, and when the Ukrainian consul appeared, they switched to Ukrainian, showing that they did not understand English," the text of the publication reads.

The authors of the news also issued an absurd wording - "the incident was hushed up, but among ordinary border guards, this case still causes outrage."

As a reminder, Polish promoter Andrzej Wasilewski called the situation with Usyk' s arrest shameful for Poland. The incident itself caused social media to explode with memes.

All details of the incident were disclosed by Oleksandr Krasiuk, who denied the version that the boxer's friend was intoxicated.
