"There is no point": Usyk predicted to end his career after rematch with Fury
The famous British boxer Dereck Chisora (34-13, 23 KOs) expressed confidence that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will finish his career after the second fight against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). The 40-year-old heavyweight noted that he has little doubt that our compatriot will win.
Chisora said this in an interview with the talkSport Boxing YouTube channel. The former rival of the Ukrainian unified champion emphasized that Usyk is a special boxer, who is also fighting against the backdrop of our country's fight against Russian aggression.
"Will he beat Fury for the second time? I think so. Listen, he's incredibly mobile and works on his feet all the time. When he came to London before the second fight with Joshua, he went to the pool and swam there for six hours non-stop! He doesn't go into the ring to make money on a Lamborghini. He fights for Ukrainians. That's why he's hard to beat. After the fight with Fury in December, he will finish his career. Because he has won everything. There is no point in fighting. He will leave undefeated," Chisora said.
As a reminder, the rematch between Usyk and Fury will take place on December 21. In the first fight , Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.
A month after the fight, on May 18, the Ukrainian was forced to give up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which was defended by Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) on September 21, brutally knocking out Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).
Before that, Alexander spoke categorically about what would happen if Tyson tried to disrupt the rematch. He also shared his expectations for the second fight with Fury and responded to accusations of cheating during the May 18 fight. In addition, Alexander told what he learned from this fight.
The legendary Volodymyr Klychko shared his expectations from the rematch between Usyk and Fury. And ex-champion Amir Khan disagreed with the forecasts for the fighters' second fight. In addition, Russian Alexander Povetkin attributed the success of our compatriot to Russia.
In turn, Russian boxing coach Andrei Ivichuk called Tyson the winner of the upcoming rematch with Alexander. And the Ukrainian named the only boxer he is interested in fighting after the second fight with the Briton.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Anthony Joshua answered the question of who he would like to see win the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. The Briton himself named his motivation for the second fight against our compatriot. He also told when he would start preparing for the fight.
