The President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Stanislav Pozdnyakov, said that all the money that was supposed to be spent on a trip to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris would allegedly go to children's sports. The head of the ROC decided not to invent anything new, but once again humiliated Russians with the "sanctions are good for us" lie.

"We are preparing all our best offers for children, the more funds we have, we can say, fortunately, we missed the Olympic Games in Paris, we have accumulated funds, we will invest them in our children, children are our future," Pozdnyakov said in an interview with TASS.

The official's words angered Russian fans.

"Maybe it's enough to accumulate something? Let the people live...", "Why did you go to the Olympics before? You should have funded children's sports instead of going abroad! The people are being taken for a fool. A bad uncle is making fairy tales here," users write.

Russians also comment on the phrase "our children," sarcastically noting that Pozdnyakov's children will now be able to buy new luxury real estate.

As a reminder, the team of individual neutral athletes at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris was represented by 32 athletes in 10 sports. The team of neutral athletes included 15 athletes from Russia and 17 athletes from Belarus, who competed in neutral status due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and related sanctions.
