The IOC has made a new decision on the admission of Russians to the 2024 Olympics

Athletes from Russia and Belarus who have received Olympic licenses to compete at this year's Games in Paris will be re-evaluated for compliance with the conditions of admission to the tournament. It will be conducted with the participation of unnamed independent organizations.

This was announced on Thursday, January 18, by International Olympic Committee (IOC) spokesman Mark Adams, according to the TASS propaganda news agency. He added that the experts who will conduct the inspection will be highly qualified.

"I can only say in general because I don't know all the details. We are in the process of finding and appointing independent analysts with good reputations to review each of these athletes. The people who have qualified have already passed one test, but the IOC will conduct a second test with independent organizations," Adams said.

As a reminder, Russian and Belarusian athletes are allowed to participate in the 2024 Games in a neutral status and only in individual events. They must not have any relation to law enforcement or military structures.

Earlier, the leaders of the Russian rhythmic gymnastics team, Dina and Arina Averina, said they "don't really want to" and will not compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
