"The goals we did not score ..." Shovkovskyi named the reason for Dynamo's second defeat in the Europa League
Dynamo Kyiv head coach Oleksandr Shovkovskyi has named his team's poor offensive performance as one of the main reasons for their defeat to German side Hoffenheim in the second round of the Europa League. The Blues coach also reminded that Ukraine continues to resist Russian aggression, which affects all spheres of life in the country.
Shovkovskyi said this at a press conference after the game, the official website of Kyiv informs. The legendary goalkeeper emphasized that there is no significant progress in the Ukrainian team's game now, as they literally have to survive.
"What was the reason for the defeat? In short, it was conceded goals and goals that we did not score. You need to understand that recently football, like our entire country, has been surviving. It's not about getting better or improving. First of all, we have to survive. This applies to many issues. We cannot attract qualified legionnaires and train properly. There are objective reasons for this. In such a situation, to become stronger, we need to play with opponents who are stronger than us," Shovkovskyi said.
It should be noted that in the game against Hoffenheim, the Ukrainian team scored one shot on goal, which was made by midfielder Volodymyr Brazhko from 27 meters. As a reminder, after two matches played, Dynamo ranks 35th in the Europa League standings. At the same time, Kyiv remains one of the two teams that have not yet managed to score a goal against their opponents.
