"Stop talking nonsense": Fury makes final decision on fight with Usyk

Warren announces decision on Fury's fight with Usyk

The World Boxing Council (WBC) belt holder Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) has no intention of fighting Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) in December this year. It was planned that the fighters would determine the absolute world heavyweight champion at a show in Saudi Arabia.

This was stated by the British promoter Frank Warren in an interview with talkSport. The Gypsy King's representative noted that the Saudi company Skill Challenge intends to postpone the grand boxing night to early next year, and also accused Usyk of disrupting attempts to organise the long-awaited fight.

"Tyson won't be fighting on the Skill Challenge show in December because they're talking about moving it to January. I think they'll move it to the first quarter of 2024, that's their business. Tyson really wants to fight and we have to make it happen. This year we have already tried three times to organise a fight with Usyk. Despite all the nonsense on social media, the Ukrainian didn't want it. He wants to wait and get his $70 million in Saudi Arabia, and I understand that. I understand that perfectly well, but stop the nonsense about the fight being cancelled because of Tyson," Warren said.

On 26 August, Usyk is scheduled to defend his title against Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs). Saudi Arabia intended to organise the fights Usyk - Fury and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) - Deontay Wilder on the same night. The media published the boxers' fees for the grand show. At the same time, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.

The Ukrainian boxer said that he was going to arrange a fight with the Briton. Oleksandr also accused his opponent of lying and then turned to the Gypsy King.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Tyson Fury unexpectedly changed his rhetoric in his statements about Oleksandr Usyk, wishing him good luck. And former world champion Johnny Nelson blasted the British champion for fighting the Ukrainian. For his part, the legendary Hasim Rahman expressed confidence that Usyk would knock out Fury.
