"Putin was speaking. We need to live by the concepts": Russia lashes out at the IOC over the suspension of participants in Z-rallies
The head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (ARRG), Irina Viner, was outraged that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) does not allow athletes who participate in propaganda events to compete. In particular, she criticized the IOC for disqualifying wrestler Abdulrashid Sadulayev from the Olympic Games.
Wiener said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency RIA Novosti. Recalling the rally in Luzhniki in support of Russia's criminal war against Ukraine in March 2022, the Putin regime's accomplice added that Sadulaev "did not make fiery speeches."
"Putin, our president, spoke at Luzhniki. So they are filming the people who were there. Sadulayev did not make fiery speeches, but there was a unity of the country, a unity with the president, and he was filmed for that. As the saying goes, you have to live by the concepts. If your two-time Olympic champion is not allowed to attend this event because he was present, how far should you go? If all athletes refused to participate in the Olympics, that would be the right thing to do," Viner said.
It should be noted that Russia has accused Ukraine of suspending Sadulayev from the tournament in Baku. Earlier, he was prevented from entering Romania for the European Championships, turning the Russian back at the Bucharest airport. Border guards questioned the authenticity of the wrestler's Schengen visa.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili lashed out at the IOC, calling the organization "a bunch of sectarians, scoundrels, fraudsters."
