Lomachenko failed to become an absolute champion
Former world champion in three weight categories Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) failed to become the absolute world lightweight champion. The 35-year-old native of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi lost to WBC, IBF, WBA Super, WBO titles holder Devin Haney (30-0, 15 KOs) from the USA at a boxing night in Las Vegas.
After 12 rounds, all the judges favoured the 24-year-old champion. Lomachenko was more accurate and had a big advantage in the final rounds, but the local judges decided that this was not enough to win.
