International federations further humiliate Russians who want to get to the Olympics

International federations are charging up to 5,000 francs to screen Russians for admission, Vladimir Sengleev, director general of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), told TASS in an interview.

In late March, the International Olympic Committee recommended that Russians be allowed to participate in international competitions as individual neutral athletes. Representatives of team sports, law enforcement agencies, and those who supported the fighting in Ukraine will not be allowed.

"The most interesting thing is that the check for an athlete is paid. They check through the media any public ties with CSKA, Dynamo, participation in award ceremonies, competitions, etc. We can see that international federations see all sanctions against Russia as a way to generate additional income. These are obviously discriminatory things," the official said.

He also announced a price list for services. For example, if a Russian gymnast wants to qualify for the Olympics, the check will cost him 3,000 francs (about 300,000 rubles at the current exchange rate), and for the staff - 1,500 francs. The International Climbing Federation requires 5,000 francs (about 500,000 rubles) for the same. Archery - 750 euros.

In the comments, Russian fans are shocked by this additional humiliation of their compatriots.

"Well, if some of our athletes are willing to crawl on their knees and humiliate themselves to the end, then they are treated accordingly. If they leave, they will be spat on in the truest sense. If they have already taken the position of sufferers, then let them suffer," users write.
