"I don't want to have anything to do with them": famous Polish track and field athlete urges to "turn away from Russia"

Fajdek criticized the Russians

Five-time world champion in the shot put Paweł Fajdek has categorically opposed the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The athlete noted that he mainly adheres to this position because of the constant doping scandals surrounding Russian representatives.

Fajdek said this in an interview with weszlo.com. The 35-year-old athlete noted that Russians are constantly engaged in deception and various frauds: they substitute doping samples or train at facilities where doping officers are not allowed.

"Russians should not be allowed to participate in the Olympics. Even if you do not take into account the war in Ukraine. We had the Sochi Olympics, where Russians did things like urine swapping for doping control. Later on, their athletes were caught doping for many years or they trained in closed military centers where doping control is not allowed. I don't want to have anything to do with them. I will not shake hands with them. One should turn away from such a country," Fajdek said.
