Wiener calls for a boycott of the Olympics

The head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (ARGF), Irina Viner, has criticized the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for allegedly unfair conditions for Russian athletes to participate in the 2024 Games. The Vladimir Putin regime's accomplice called them humiliating for athletes from the aggressor country.

Wiener said this in an interview with Championship.com. The member of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party was especially outraged by the anthem that the IOC had chosen for the gold medal ceremony for "neutral athletes." The official compared it to a funeral march.

"I expressed my opinion in Perm at the presidential council! I will repeat it again! To travel in this status without an anthem, without a flag, without fans, without leadership, without press and without participation in the opening and closing parades is humiliating! And the anthem that will be played in honor of Russian athletes is more like a funeral march," Viner said.

The IOC has banned Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. The Kremlin responded by accusing the organization of violating the rights of Russian athletes.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, IOC President Thomas Bach spoke out against the so-called collective responsibility of Russian athletes for the war in Ukraine. Russia has already started harassing athletes who agree to go to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in a neutral status.
