"He had every opportunity." Valuev criticizes Usyk for not betraying Ukraine

Valuev criticized Usyk

Former world heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev expressed an absurd opinion that Oleksandr Usyk was forced to speak out against Russia. An accomplice of Vladimir Putin's dictatorial regime and an ardent supporter of the war against Ukraine, he noted that our boxer had a different position in the past, forgetting that attitudes toward Russia changed dramatically after its invasion of our country.

Valuev said this in an interview with former boxer Grigory Drozd on his YouTube channel Drozd Says. The State Duma deputy, along with his compatriot and fellow Z-patriot, began to condemn Usyk and also criticized the Ukrainian for not leaving his native country.

"He made his choice, which he was pushed to make. He had nowhere else to go. But this is no excuse for his actions. It is a fact. He had every opportunity to go and say whatever he wanted. If he believes this sincerely, this is his position. We will not respect it, but we must accept it as a position. Yes, it is his position. But it doesn't fit with his past - his statements, deeds, actions. The changes are too big," Valuev said.

Prior to that , the Russian found a ridiculous excuse for Usyk's exclusively pro-Ukrainian position. Valuev also hurled insults at our country and accused it of violating international rules by opposing Russian aggression.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Nikolai Valuev has made a wild claim that Ukrainians are becoming outcasts in the world.
