Lomachenko lost to Haney on points

The social activist Sergiy Sternenko reacted on the fight of Vasiliy Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs), former three-division titleholder, against Devin Haney (30-0, 15 KOs), absolute lightweight champion. The video blogger advised Vasily not to cry, reminding him about karma and his favorite topic, that "Ukraine and Russia are one people".

Sternenko applied this narrative with a quip, noting that "Lomachenko and defeat are now one people."

"Vasya, don't cry. You'll get help from the FSB men in cassocks you're defending. You will be saved by the "polite people in Crimea" you post. You are with defeat one people, and you lost the battle, because you can do nothing and have no influence on anything," wrote Sergiy in his Telegram channel.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, the lightweight fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena went all 12 rounds and ended with a unanimous decision of the judges 116-112, 115-113, 115-113 in favor of the American.

The full referee's notes of the meeting were later published.

After the defeat, Lomachenko could not contain his emotions and burst into tears while waiting for the press conference.

It's worth noting that during a flash-interview in the ring, Vasyl did not mention Ukraine, refusing to thank his homeland.

Earlier, Lomachenko did not call Russia the aggressor, and also said that it was difficult for him to explain the situation. In addition, the Ukrainian remembered how the war started for him, and later refused to condemn Putin and his decision to introduce troops into Ukraine.

On February 24, the Ukrainian lightweight posted an image of a dove of two joined hands painted in the colors of the Ukrainian and Russian flags.
