For the first time! A historic event related to Ukraine took place at Roland Garros

For the first time in its history, Ukraine will be represented by two tennis players at the Rioland Garros. Lesia Tsurenko and Elina Svitolina continue to compete at the French Open tennis championships with a prize pool of €49.6 million.

On Saturday, June 3, Ukraine's third seed Lesia Tsurenko (WTA No. 66) won a thrilling victory in the round of 16, defeating Bianca Andreescu (WTA No. 42).

The 34-year-old from Kyiv took care of the 22-year-old Canadian in just over an hour, never breaking her serve - 6-1, 6-1. This will be Tsurenko's fourth appearance at this stage of the Grand Slam.

On June 2, Svitolina defeated Russian Anna Blinkova in three sets - 2-6, 6-2, 7-5.

On June 5, Tsurenko will play against Iga Świątek (Poland) in the 1/8 finals. The world number one defeated China's Xin Yu Wang in two sets in the third round, without giving up a single game (6-0, 6-0).

On June 4, Svitolina will play a match against Russia's best tennis player Daria Kasatkina. The match starts at 15:15 Kyiv time.
