Agapitov mocked the Games in Paris

President of the Russian Weightlifting Federation (FTAR) Maxim Agapitov mockingly commented on the 2024 Games in Paris. The representative of the aggressor country expressed a ridiculous opinion that the competitions in France can not have the status of the Olympic Games, and the real Olympic Games will be held in Moscow under the name of "Friendship Games", which were ordered to be organized by dictator Vladimir Putin and where Ukraine was cynically invited.

Agapitov said this in an interview with the propaganda channel Match TV. The 1997 world champion added that Russia adheres to the rules of "ethics and morality" and does not violate anti-doping rules, forgetting the grandiose state system of the use of banned substances by athletes from Russia.

"We adhere to laws and rules and fundamental morality and ethics. Those competitions that are organized in Paris are called OI by some ridiculous coincidence. However, our athletes are going to other competitions, which correspond to the Olympic status, charter, spirit, morality. But these competitions will be held in Moscow - the Friendship Games. Athletes who comply with sports and anti-doping rules will come there. They will perform there. Everything else does not interest us much, as it has lost credibility and compliance," Agapitov said.

The functionary had earlier termed as "violation of the statutes" the demand of the international weightlifting federation to condemn the war and sign a neutral athlete declaration to participate in the World Cup.

As reported OBOZREVATEL, the Olympic champion Mikhail Mamiashvili with words about the "superior race" demanded to allow Russian athletes to the world championship-2023 wrestling without additional conditions.
