Ukraine's No. 3 Lesya Tsurenko (WTA No. 66) reached the third round of the French Open tennis tournament with a prize pool of €49.6 million ahead of schedule. The 34-year-old from Kyiv met American Lauren Davis (WTA No. 52) in the round of 32, but the latter refused to continue the match with the Ukrainian in the second set.

When the match was stopped, our compatriot had won the first set and was leading in the second - 6-3, 1-0. In the next round, Lesya will meet 22-year-old Canadian Bianca Andreescu (WTA No. 36).

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Tsurenko defeated Czech tennis player Barbora Krejcikova in the first round of Roland Garros.

During her interview, Lesya Viktorovna admitted that she did not understand what had changed dramatically after a year of Russia's full-scale invasion, which led to the return of Russians to big sports around the world.
