"A real monster": a boxer from Russia gave Fury advice on how to defeat Usyk in a rematch
British boxer Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) should defeat Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) in a rematch if he makes changes to his preparation and the course of the fight. At the same time, the fight itself will be very close, just like the first confrontation between the boxers, which ended with the Ukrainian's victory by a separate decision of the judges.
This opinion was expressed by Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov (19-2, 18 KOs) in an interview with the Seconds Out YouTube channel. The boxer, who is hiding under the Canadian flag and suffered a crushing defeat against an Italian opponent over the weekend, noted that Usyk creates problems for all heavyweight representatives.
"Usyk... You know, Usyk is a real monster. He is the type of heavyweight who creates problems for any opponent. He's very explosive, he works great on his feet. I think the rematch will be very close, very close. I think that if Fury fixes his weaknesses, he will certainly win," Makhmudov said.
We remind you that in the first fight, Usyk defeated Fury by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.
A month after the fight, the Ukrainian was forced to relinquish the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which was awarded to Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) and Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) on September 21.
Later it became known that the IBF left Usyk no choice. This situation angered the head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White. The Ukrainian himself commented on his decision for the first time. Fury and Usyk will rematch on December 21. The fantastic prize money for the second fight is already known.
Our compatriot shared his expectations from the second fight with Tyson and responded to accusations of fraud during the fight with Fury on May 18. In addition, Oleksandr commented on the injury he received in the fight.
The Ukrainian announced his radical plan to continue his career after the rematch with Tyson. Usyk named the most difficult moment of the fight with the Briton. Our boxer also spoke frankly about his opponent.
