A murder was committed during the 2024 Olympics

A young girl who was a volunteer for the Olympic Games was found dead in her apartment on Monday night in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. According to leparisien.fr, she was killed on the rue Emile Blémont by her boyfriend, another volunteer whom she had been dating for two years.

The disappearance of her 21-year-old daughter after the closing ceremony at the Stade de France stadium was reported by the victim's mother. Searches led to the discovery of her cell phone near Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis). When the cops opened the apartment, they found the girl's body with a hematoma on her head. An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

Police tracked down the alleged killer thanks to an SMS sent to the victim's relatives, which said "I did something stupid." When the SWAT team entered the suspect's apartment, he was heavily intoxicated and close to a coma.

"This man tried to commit suicide by taking medication," a source close to the case said.
