"We have reached the bottom. Shame": the author of the first goal in the history of the Ukrainian national team reacts to the fiasco of Dynamo and Dnipro-1 in Europe

The author of the first goal in the history of the Ukrainian national team, Ivan Getsko, has harshly criticised Ukrainian clubs for their performances in European tournaments. The former Dnipro and Odesa-based Chornomorets striker suggested that our country's representatives in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League have literally hit rock bottom.

Getsko said this to the Sport.ua portal, commenting on the defeats of Dynamo Kyiv and Dnipro-1 by Aris and Slavia respectively. He called the performance of our players, who are losing to far from the strongest European teams, shameful.

"Shame, there is no other word for it when analysing the performance of our clubs. Unfortunately, the baton was picked up by two other domestic representatives, Dnipro-1 and Dynamo, who were knocked out of the Conference League qualifiers by modest Georgian side Dila. Unfortunately, our representatives in the European Cups have almost reached the bottom," said Getsko.

It is worth noting that the head coach of Dynamo Kyiv, Mircea Lucescu, named the reasons for the team's defeat by Aris, criticising Andriy Yarmolenko.
