Sulaiman spoke about the Usyk-Fury fight

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has supported the initiative that the winner of the fight between Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) should fight Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs). At the same time, the organization confirmed that it had authorized two fights between the British and Ukrainian for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion.

This was stated by WBC President Maurice Sulaiman in an interview with Sky Sports. According to the official, Joshua's spectacular victory over Cameroonian mixed martial artist Francis Ngannou (0-2, 0 KOs) has cemented the Watford native as a mandatory contender for Usyk's and Fury's belts.

"The WBC has received a request to authorize a fight for the absolute champion title. The WBC accepted this request and we agreed to the rematch they requested. We absolutely agree that the winner fights Joshua. The WBC was very attentive to this issue. Thus, we have completely cleared the way for the fight for the absolute championship, for the rematch and for another fight of this level," said Sulaiman.

As a reminder, Usyk and Fury will fight on May 18, after the fight in February had to be postponed due to the British fighter's cut. Afterward, Tyson spoke frankly about his injury. In addition, the Croatian heavyweight Agron Smakici (20-2, 18 KOs), who delivered the fatal blow, presented his version of the incident.

Derek Chisora (34-14, 23 KOs), the former rival of the two boxers, gave his categorical forecast for the fight. In addition, the legendary Vitalii Klytschko gave original advice to the Gypsy King.

At the same time, the Ukrainian's team has already decided on a boxer who will replace Tyson if he refuses to enter the ring again. If the Briton does so, he will also face a multi-million dollar fine.
