Ukraine's sexiest karateka wins European Games

Ukrainian karateka Anzhelika Terliuga, who holds the unofficial title of the sexiest female karateka in our country, has won gold at the 2023 European Games, which are currently taking place in Poland. The 31-year-old from Odesa became the best in the 55 kg weight category, winning this tournament for the first time in her career.

During the competition, Anzhelika defeated Tubu Yakan from Turkey (4:2), drew with Italian Veronica Brunori (0:0), and won against Gizem Damla Bugur from Turkey (3:0). In the semi-finals, our compatriot defeated Jennifer Warling of Luxembourg (2:0), and in the final match she was stronger than Yvette Goranova of Bulgaria (2:0).

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, on 9 July last year, Terliuga won the World Games for the first time in her career.

On 28 May 2020, Terliuga won the European Championships held in Gaziantep, Turkey.

In the final fight, our compatriot defeated Yvette Goranova from Bulgaria with a score of 11:3. The key to the match was two kicks to the head, for which Terliuga received an apparent penalty.

It is worth noting that it was Goranova who lost to Terliuga in the final of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Prior to that, Anzhelika won the third stage of one of the world's major international karate tournaments - the World Karate Federation (WKF) Premier League. The competition took place in Morocco.
