Ukraine sets historic record in tennis

World No. 77 Ekaterina Beindl (maiden name Kozlova) reached the final of the WTA 250 in Budapest for the first time in 5 years, where she lost in three sets to Russia's Maria Timofeeva (6:3, 3:6, 6:0).
On May 27, Elina Svitolina (No. 27 WTA) became the winner of the WTA 250 tournament in Strasbourg with a prize fund of $259,000. In the final, the 28-year-old from Odessa defeated 24-year-old from Moscow Anna Blinkova.
Lesia Tsurenko lost to China's Zhu Lin (4:6, 4:6) in the final at the Thailand Open on February 5.
Marta Kostyuk (34 WTA) won the hardcourt 250,000-meter event at the Austin ATX Open in Austin, USA, on March 5. In the final match the 20-year-old from Kiev defeated the 22-year-old from Moscow Varvara Gracheva (88) with the score 6:3, 7:5.
