The St Petersburg football club Zenit, where Ukrainian Anatoliy Tymoshchuk works as a coach, has been fined 300,000 rubles (~$3,000) for celebrating the championship. According to Kommersant, the Petrogradsky District Court of St. Petersburg punished Zenit in an administrative case on organising an unauthorised mass event (Article 20.2.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation).

In addition, the head of the club's security service, Alexander Rumyantsev, was fined 60,000 rubles on the same grounds.

The police report states that the celebrations on 13 May in honour of the victory in the RPL "led to disruptions in the movement of pedestrians and vehicles, as well as damage to lawns in public areas".

The case file states that the participants of the event trampled on the turf, and due to burning pyrotechnics (flares, torches-candles) that were thrown on the grass, the lawn was burnt in about ten places.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Tymoshchuk is trying to obtain a Romanian passport. In this way, Anatoliy is trying to circumvent the sanctions imposed on him by the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC).

As a reminder, Anatoliy refused to condemn Russia for the attack on Ukraine and only managed to squeeze out a small Instagram story in which he simply called for peace.

In turn, Ukrainian soldiers wiped their feet on Anatoliy's T-shirt. And on Tymoshchuk's birthday, the Lutsk City Council stripped the former Ukrainian national team player of the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City".

The UAF deprived Anatoliy Tymoshchuk of all sports awards and titles, and removed him from the official registers of national teams because of his tacit support for the criminal actions of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in Ukraine.
