Corey Perry, a 38-year-old forward for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, was kicked off the team for having an intimate relationship with the mother of his teammate, 18-year-old first-round pick Connor Bedard. According to Canucks Daily, the sex between married Melanie Bedard and the two-time Olympic champion (2010, 2014) and member of the Canadian national team could have taken place during the Mom's trip, in which the mothers of hockey players traveled with the team to games.
"Following an internal investigation, the Blackhawks have determined that Perry engaged in unacceptable behavior and violated both the terms of his contract and the club's internal policies aimed at creating a professional and safe work environment," reads an official statement from Chicago.
The American club has already put the player on the waiver wire, after which the agreement will be terminated.
Corey Perry was one of Chicago's key hockey players. He was among the top five scorers and wore an assistant patch.
Bedard is one of the most promising hockey players in America.
At the age of 16, the Canadian native broke Connor McDavid's record and became the first to score 100 points in the Canadian Hockey League.
Before the draft, Bedard participated in the World Youth Championship, becoming the top scorer (23 points in 11 games).
Parents Melanie and Tom Bedard, as well as 20-year-old sister Madisen, often come to Connor's fights, becoming the subject of close attention from TV cameras.
