Fernandes scored in his own goal

The goalkeeper of the six-time German champion Hamburg, Daniel Fernandes, made an incredible gaffe in an ultra-principled match of the German championship in the second Bundesliga with St. Pauli. The 31-year-old Portuguese hit his own goal in the regional derby with a one-meter shot.

A curious episode occurred in the 27th minute of the match, when Hamburg was already losing by one goal. The visiting team was playing the ball in their penalty area, trying to organize their attack. Fernandes passed the ball to defender Stefan Ambrosius, who passed it to another Portuguese, Guilherme Ramos.

He did not find a continuation for the forward pass and rolled the ball to the far post for the goalkeeper to clear. However, a bump on the field intervened in the episode, causing the ball to jump up a bit, changing its trajectory. As a result, Fernandes, trying to transfer the game with a long pass to the right flank, sent the ball into his own net. His strike has already been recognized as the own goal of the century.

Interestingly, at the beginning of the second half, Hamburg managed to equalize within two minutes. The game ended with a score of 2:2. It is worth noting that Shakhtar Donetsk is playing its home matches in the Champions League this season at the stadium of this German team.

After this game, the club from the Volksparkstadion remained on the second line of the second Bundesliga, lagging behind St. Pauli by three points.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Champions League match in Hamburg between Shakhtar Donetsk and Belgian side Anderlecht ended in a brawl after the final whistle.
