American tennis player Corey Gauff (No. 6 WTA) won the US Open. The 19-year-old Atlanta native defeated Arina Sobolenko (No. 2 WTA) of Belarus in the final of the women's singles tournament. The meeting in New York ended in three sets with scores of 2:6, 6:3 and 6:2.
