"That's the difference": boxing legend explains why Fury is afraid to fight Usyk
The legendary two-weight champion Evander Holyfield has expressed confidence that Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) is afraid to fight Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). According to the American, the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is known, doubts that he will be able to outbox the Ukrainian.
Holyfield said this in an interview with the K.O. Artist Sports YouTube channel, Boxing Social reports. According to the former absolute heavyweight champion, despite Fury's size and power, Usyk will simply not give Tyson the opportunity to hit him accurately, thanks to his incredible footwork.
"Why doesn't Fury fight Usyk? Tyson Fury is a good fighter, but Usyk is a smart guy. He moves and can throw a punch. Big guys don't fight better than little guys, that's all. Little guys are always skilful, but big guys always have power. With Tyson Fury, it's different. He's a big guy, but he's a very good boxer and he's shown that he has some power. But no one will be faster than Usyk. It will be difficult to outbox him, and that may be the difference," Holyfield said.
On 26 August in Wroclaw, Usyk will defend his belts against Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs). On the eve of the fight, the Briton made a bold promise. In case of victory over his opponent, the Ukrainian hopes to fight for the title of absolute world champion with Fury, to whom Usyk made an unexpected compliment. Tyson himself unexpectedly spoke calmly about Oleksandr and the disruption of the fight on 26 April.
Famous Russian promoter Vladimir Khryunov wished Usyk a defeat in the fight with Dubois. The Briton himself spoke about the fear he saw in the Ukrainian's eyes during the duel of the eyes.
It also became known about Oleksandr's "terrible camp" before the fight. In addition, Poland expressed dissatisfaction with the organisation of the broadcast of the Usyk-Dubois fight.
