"She behaved disgustingly". In the State Duma threw a tantrum over Isinbayeva's behavior
Russian State Duma deputy Sultan Khamzaev said that Yelena Isinbayeva, having retained her membership in the International Olympic Committee's (IOC) Athletes' Commission, "spit on the Motherland". Khamzaev noted that she was not chosen there by Russian citizens, but was "chosen by her kind within a non-profit organization called the IOC."
"Isinbayeva, in order to keep her place there, spit on the Motherland, if we call things by their names, behaved disgustingly," the parliamentarian threw a tantrum.
Khamzaev is sure that sitting in the IOC, the famous track and field athlete does not represent the Russian Federation.
"Because the people of Russia have their own position, which is far from Isinbayeva. She said that she is a person of peace, but she is understating something. Let her say to which part of the world she considers herself. The world today is divided into several camps - the militarized West, waiting East, defending Asia, defending Russia. To which part of the world she belongs," the deputy said in an interview with Gazeta.ru.
In the comments, fans refused to support Khamzaev, giving him a real harassment in the comments.
"It's still a big question who spit on his homeland (the people) to keep his (deputy) seat", "Some kind of verbal diarrhea is constant in this comrade. Go to your homeland, in Dagestan, there fucking need a man to counter corruption, and that's what he should do as a deputy", - wrote users.
As reported OBOZREVATEL, in Makhachkala from the central athletics stadium took away the name of Elena Isinbayeva. The arena was renamed again to "Trud", which was so called until 2017.
Recently, politician Alexei Navalny's team published a photo of the former track and field athlete in Spain against the backdrop of the Ukrainian flag and an investigation into the Olympic champion's real estate in Europe. In Russia, a real harassment has unfolded against Isinbayeva. She is demanded to "work everything off".
Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov became a laughing stock online after he urged not to criticize Yelena Isinbayeva.
