Mamiashvili demanded the lifting of sanctions against Russia

President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili has demanded that Russian athletes are allowed to participate in the World Championships-2023 without additional conditions. The Olympic champion of Seoul-88 noted that representatives of the Russian Federation will not sign a declaration of neutral status, "where it is necessary to renounce their country and condemn the war in Ukraine."

Mamiashvili said this in a commentary for the Match TV propaganda channel. The representative of the aggressor country also added that the idea they can "measure the size of our skull, the gap in our eyes and make us fit the superior race" to compete at the tournament is absurd.

"We don't need to sign any declaration where we have to renounce our country or anything like that to participate in this World Cup. But there are no other options. You realize that we live in interesting times. I do not rule out that they will measure the size of the skull and the gap in the eyes so that you correspond to the highest race and you are allowed to compete," Mamiashvili said.

Earlier he called the demand for athletes to oppose Russia's aggression against Ukraine an initiative of "an aggressive minority who impose their own rules of the game." It should be noted that the World Championships will be held in Belgrade from September 16 to 24. Representatives of the Russian Federation will be able to participate in it in a neutral status.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Russia brazenly lied about the fact that its athletes were suspended from the World Cup-2023 in weightlifting.
