Setdikov speaks out about Valiyeva's disqualification

Russian ice hockey player Nikita Setdikov repeated the traditional narratives of Kremlin propaganda about the politicization of the decision to disqualify figure skater Kamila Valiyeva. The forward of Nizhnekamsk-based Neftekhimik complained about the allegedly biased treatment of representatives of the aggressor country.

Setdikov said this in an interview with Metaratings.ru. The 28-year-old Muscovite justified the use of banned substances by his compatriot and noted that world sports consider the Russian terrorist state to be the "main enemy of the people," and that Western countries themselves could not punish Valiyeva because of her age.

"I would definitely agree that now everything in our country is about politics, which interferes with sports. Russia is the main enemy of the people for all foreign sports. I don't know why they made such a decision about Valiyeva. She's a young girl, she's going to be performing and performing. I wish her strength to get through these difficult times. I hope Kamila will return to the ice and show everyone her strength," Setdikov said.

As a reminder, the Court of Arbitration for Sport found Valiyeva guilty of violating anti-doping rules. After that, the Russian national team was deprived of the gold medal in the team figure skating competition at the 2022 Olympics. Later it became known that in court, the Russian Federation was unable to prove even the existence of Kamila's grandfather, who allegedly introduced the banned substances into the athlete's body.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, 60 different substances were found in the blood of figure skater Kamila Valieva, who was 15 years old at the time of the Beijing Olympics.
