Andronov speaks out about Valiyeva

Well-known Russian commentator Alexei Andronov spoke out harshly after figure skater Kamila Valiyeva was disqualified for using banned drugs. The journalist called his country a "doping empire" and called for fighting the problem rather than accusing Western countries of collusion.

Andronov wrote about this in his Telegram channel. The former employee of the propaganda TV channel Match TV, who condemned the war in Ukraine, was outraged that athletes caught doping are easily elected to the State Duma, while doctors and coaches continue to work.

"Russia is a doping empire. Unfortunately. Without recognizing the problem, it is impossible to solve it... And the key is simple. A two-time doper is sitting in the Duma, Titov (Yegor Titov, Spartak legend - ed.) is serving a suspension, but coaches and doctors are working, Chyogin (athletics coach - ed.) continues to train (instead of serving time), Kaniskina (Olympic champion in race walking - ed.) is appointed as a coach for state money, Valieva is so on edge that even her "grandfather" is silent, not to mention the coach and doctor. Full house," Andronov emphasized.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) found Valiyeva guilty of violating anti-doping rules. After that, the Russian national team was stripped of its gold medal in the team figure skating competition at the 2022 Olympics. In response, the famous coach Tatyana Tarasova threw a real tantrum. She called the CAS judges murderers and pigs who allegedly destroyed the 17-year-old skater's career.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Olympic champion and president of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili accused the world of lacking "humanity and compassion" for Kamila Valiyeva. And three-time world luge champion Roman Repilov said that the world "should be ashamed" of the doping investigation in Russia.
