The official website of the International Judo Federation (IJF) has published the applications of countries to participate in the 2023 World Championships, which will be held in Doha from 7 to 14 May. The roster and teams of "individual neutral athletes", as the Russian national team is now called, was published, which includes 11 athletes (8 men and 3 women).

Of the registered Russians, at least seven represent the Central Army Sports Club. Some have officer ranks.

Niyaz Ilyasov - Senior Lieutenant of the Russian Armed Forces (CSKA)

Tamerlan Bashayev - Senior Sergeant of the Russian Armed Forces (CSKA)

Mikhail Igolnikov - Warrant Officer of the Russian Armed Forces (CSKA)

Inal Tasoev - Warrant Officer of the Russian Armed Forces (CSKA)

Alexandra Babintseva - Lieutenant of the Russian Armed Forces (CSKA)

Madina Taimazova - Warrant Officer of the Russian Armed Forces (CSKA)

Sabina Gilyazova - CSKA.

On April 29, the IJF allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the competition under neutral status. At the same time, the organisers of the World Cup will use an independent company to check all people from these countries, with special attention paid to monitoring social media for possible war propaganda.

"We are looking forward to celebrating the values of judo together at the 2023 World Championships with all the athletes participating in the Olympic qualification for the 2024 Games. Sport is the main bridge for dialogue and reconciliation," the IJF said in an official statement.

It should be noted that Ukraine is also on the list of participants. Earlier, the Ministry of Sports of Ukraine issued a decree banning our national teams from participating in international competitions where Russians and Belarusians are present

Last September, the Russian national team was suspended from the World Judo Championships, which took place in the Uzbek capital Tashkent from 6 to 12 October.
