On the eve of the rematch with Usyk: Joshua named the worst mistake of his career
Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) admitted that he made the most terrible mistake in his career on the eve of the rematch with Oleskndr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs). According to the British boxer, he invited a lot of specialists in certain areas to his training camp, which became a real nightmare.
Joshua told about it in an interview with YouTube channel Antoine Speaks, writes the portal Boxing Social. The Watford native noted that in the end he could not make progress in any of the components and then lost to the Ukrainian champion in August last year by a split decision of judges.
"I saw other boxers ducking their heads, counterattacking and throwing combinations of 15 punches. I thought I needed some of that. I hired one person to help me with mobility, a second person to help me with defense and a third person to help me with punching technique. That's how I built the team. It was actually the worst thing that happened in my career. Boxing is easy when you get the right information from the right person," Joshua said.
We will remind that on August 12, Joshua will have a second fight with compatriot Dillian Whyte (28-3, 19 KOs). In turn, Usyk will hold a mandatory defense against Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) in Wroclaw on August 26.
In case of victory over the Brit, Oleksandr, who has dramatically changed his look, hopes to unify all the heavyweight belts in a fight with Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs).
Saudi Arabia intends to organize Usyk - Fury and Joshua - Deontay Wilder fights (43-2-1, 42 KOs) in one night. The media published the fees of boxers for the grand show. At the same time Anthony has already confirmed his bout against Deontay.
As OBOZREVATEL reported, the famous Russian promoter Vladimir Khryunov wished Oleksandr Usyk defeat in the fight with Daniel Dubois. The Brit himself spoke about the fear he saw in the eyes of the Ukrainian during the duel of glances. In turn, Usyk sharply addressed Tyson Fury, asking him to go f*ck himself.
