"Not with us": Usyk's team reacts to Fury's statement about the fight
Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) is fully focused on defending his belts in a mandatory fight against the British Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs). Only after winning this fight, which may take place in the second half of the summer, will our compatriot begin to consider a duel with another representative of the United Kingdom, Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs).
Usyk's promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk told Sky Sports in an interview. He also denied the words of his colleague Bob Arum, who manages the affairs of the Gypsy King, as the Manchester native is known, that the teams of Tyson and Oleksandr had resumed negotiations on organising a fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion.
"Right now we are fully focused on the Dubuque fight as our next step. After Usyk wins, anything is possible. Arum says that he had talks with the Saudis about a fight between Fury and Usyk. Not with us," Krasiuk stressed.
Recall that Saudi Arabia is set to stage the Usik vs Fury and Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) vs Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) fights on the same night in December. The media has published the boxers' fees for the big show. The total will be at least $250 million. With that said, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.
For his part, Skill Challenge Entertainment promoter Amer Abdallah confirmed that the organisers in Saudi Arabia already have a date for Usyk's fight with Fury and Joshua's fight with Wilder. He also announced the threat of disqualification of participants in the upcoming tournament.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Tyson Fury broke his silence about the fight with Oleksandr Usyk for the first time in a long time. And the Gypsy King's cousin Hughie Fury challenged the Ukrainian, promising to knock him out.
