Povetkin speaks about Usyk's career
Former world heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin expressed confidence that Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) is obliged to rematch Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs). The Russian ex-boxer called the fight between the Ukrainian and the Briton the most intriguing in the king's division.
Povetkin said this in an interview with the propaganda publication Soviet Sport. According to him, Dubois' victory over Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) was impressive. The 25-year-old Briton allegedly demonstrated that he can compete with the fighter he lost by TKO last August.
"Usyk is about to fight Fury again, and recently Joshua lost to Dubois. And I would be interested to see Daniel fight Oleksandr. That would be a really interesting fight: Usyk vs Dubois," Povetkin said.
It will be recalled that on December 21, Usyk will rematch against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs). In the first fight, Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.
