No rematch with Klitschko? Joshua speaks for the first time about the fight with Fury
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) has expressed his readiness to fight Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs). This decision of the boxer from Watford means that the idea of organizing a rematch between the Gypsy King and the legendary Wladimir Klitschko (64-5-0-1, 54 KOs) may not come to fruition.
In an interview with the Nigerian portal Premium Times Nigeria, Joshua emphasized that a fight with Fury is his goal for 2025. At the same time, Anthony could not answer categorically whether such a fight would be organized, as Tyson repeatedly disrupted the confrontation between the boxers.
"I can't stop and have to keep striving to become a three-time world champion. A fight with Fury? We are not sure if it will happen, but it is my goal. In 2025, I set my sights on Tyson Fury. What are your chances of winning? Let's see. The ring will show everything. God only knows what will happen," Joshua said.
It should be noted that last year Anthony and Tyson suffered painful defeats. Joshua was sensationally knocked out by his compatriot Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs), and Fury lost twice to Ukrainian super champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs).
According to promoter Eddie Hearn, Joshua was relieved when Fury failed to beat our compatriot because Anthony had also been beaten twice by Usyk before.
