After high school, Suknevych entered the Ivan Bobersky Lviv State University of Physical Culture, Department of Fencing, Boxing and National Martial Arts. After receiving his diploma, the athlete decided to do military service and was based in Yavoriv and Rivne. However, he was later discharged from the army for health reasons.

Upon returning home and to civilian life, Suknevych worked as a sales representative in Lviv. He helped his mother at the For Good charity foundation, which takes care of stray animals in the city.

However, after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022, Oleksandr returned to service, joining the ranks of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the West Operational Command.

On January 2, 25-year-old Oleksandr fought his last battle. Six days later, in Lviv, his family and friends said goodbye to their hero.

"It's hard, it's extremely hard these days. On the day when Olya and Lenya received the terrible news about the death of their son Sashko. The mother's cry and the father's tears will be forever etched in our hearts. The sky closed over the parents. Many people have called and written these days. Words of condolences, whispered, from the heart, came from everywhere," said Natalia, who knew the soldier's family.

"Olya, Lena, we are crying with you... Your son Sashko will forever remain in our hearts as a man of a bright soul, smiling and positive," Natalia added.

Oleksandr is also mourned by the For Good charitable foundation: "Sanya saved everyone. Sanya was a hero not only in the war, but always, throughout his life. Sanya was always joyful and smiling, no matter how bad his heart was. He always knew how to cheer up everyone who was having a hard time. Russia took his life. Russia has destroyed another family. Russia destroyed our lives, took the life of someone we love."

"This is how you will remain in our hearts - always smiling and cheerful... There is pain in my chest... Emptiness in my soul... My heart is torn into small pieces. You are with us! Only very far away..." - Oleksandr's mother Olga could not contain her pain.
