Lomachenko's promoter supported the ban on Russians fighting for the championship belt

Bob Arum has spoken out about the Bivol vs Beterbiev fight

The famous American promoter Bob Arum supported the World Boxing Council (WBC) for refusing to sanction fights with the Russians. The head of the company Top Rank, which handles the cases of Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs), expressed his support for our country, which continues to resist the aggression of the Russian Federation.

Arum stated about it in his interview to FightHype YouTube channel, writes Boxing News 24. Arum said he wouldn't demand the WBC to change its position on Russians so that Russian with Canadian passport Artur Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs) could fight his compatriot Dmitry Bivol (21-0, 11 KOs).

"The organization has taken a principled position on this issue - they do not want a Russian to fight for their title. I support this because I am fully committed to Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. I am not going to do anything to influence that decision. If the WBC changes its mind, we will certainly consider a unification fight between Beterbiev and Bivol .But Beterbiev is facing a very tough fight in August with that Englishman Callum Smith. We'll see what happens after that. Hopefully the war will probably be over by then," Arum said.

Earlier, Bivol was outraged that he was not allowed to fight Beterbiev. He decided to disassociate himself from Russia, recalling that he was born in Kyrgyzstan. It should be noted that Bivol and Beterbiev own all the belts of the division, which Ukrainian Oleksandr Gvozdik (19-1, 15 KOs) returned to victoriously.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Oleksandr Gvozdik spoke out about the possibility of a fight against some of the Russian boxers during the war.
