Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov hypocritically accused the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and its chairman Thomas Bach of destroying world sport. The henchman of dictator Vladimir Putin's regime was particularly outraged by the admission of transgender athletes to some competitions.

Lavrov said this in a comment to the propaganda news agency R-Sport. The accomplice of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine called the IOC's decision inconsistent because of the exclusion of representatives of Russia and Belarus from the competition.

"I consider what is happening to the sports movement now, which is being done by the IOC leaders and Thomas Bach personally, to be a betrayal of all the ideals of Olympism. In one of his speeches, responding to initiatives to allow transgender people to participate in all kinds of competitions, he said: "We can't politicize sports, so we need to create the necessary equal rights for them"... But when he was told: "Okay, you are against politicization. Will you allow Russian and Belarusian athletes?" He said: "No, this is different. This is not politicization, they have violated the UN Charter," Lavrov said.
