Joshua wins doping fight with brutal knockout. Video
Former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) knocked out Robert Helenius (32-4, 21 KOs). The Finnish boxer replaced Dillian Whyte, who failed a doping test a week before the meeting.
The fight in London turned out to be frankly weak. Both fighters worked very leisurely in the ring, occasionally checking each other's defense with jab.
The spectators displeased with such a show began to whistle indignantly in the 2nd three minutes, but it did not affect the course of the fight. Joshua was easily breaking through the Finn's defense, but did not escalate.
Helenius was hit with a side kick in the 5th three-minute period. However, instead of developing his attack, he missed a jab that broke his nose. Anthony was able to shake his opponent once more with a jab before the bell.
The denouement happened in the 7th round. Anthony Joshua was finally able to get into position for a good punch and sent Robert into a hard knockout with a left and then a right fist.
It marked the first early win in 3 years for the Brit.
