"It's not a secret": Dubois names only chance to beat Usyk
British Daniel Dubois (19-1, 18 KOs) is determined to knock out Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) in a fight on 26 August and win our boxer's championship belts. At the same time, Dynamite, as the London native is called, does not believe that he will be able to win on points.
Dubois said this in an interview with the Seconds Out YouTube channel, Boxing News 24/7 reports. According to the British contender, he is aware that Usyk has a huge amateur experience, which allows him to move incredibly quickly around the ring and throw punch combinations.
"Of course, it will be difficult to win by decision. That's what everyone is talking about now. Usyk has this amateur style - footwork and all that. It's not a secret. You have to go out there and put up a tough fight. Go out there and put pressure on him, hit him on the arms, shoulders, head and everything above the waist. I need to be smart and box like I've never done before. Winning is what matters to me," said Dubois.
As a reminder, the Ukrainian and the Briton will fight in Wroclaw, Poland. On the eve of the fight, the Briton made a bold promise. If he wins, the Ukrainian hopes to fight for the title of absolute world champion against Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs), to whom Usyk paid an unexpected compliment. Tyson himself unexpectedly spoke calmly about Oleksandr and the disruption of the fight on 26 April.
Saudi Arabia intends to organise the fights Usyk - Fury and Anthony Joshua (26-3, 23 KOs) - Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) on the same night. The media published the boxers' fees for the grand show. At the same time, Anthony has already confirmed his fight against Deontay.
Famous Russian promoter Vladimir Khryunov wished Usyk a defeat in the fight with Dubois. The Briton himself spoke about the fear he saw in the Ukrainian's eyes during the duel of looks. It also became known about Oleksandr's "terrible camp" before the fight.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Oleksandr Usyk has a spectacular fan in Britain. And Tyson Fury attacked the Ukrainian with humiliation and threats. For his part, our boxer ridiculed the Gypsy King for his fight against Francis Ngannou.
