Yegoryan speaks about her career

Two-time Olympic champion Yana Yegoryan cannot expect to receive the so-called neutral status and return to international competitions. The Russian rival of Olga Harlan added that she does not intend to end her career at the age of 30, despite the lack of major starts.

Yegoryan said this in a commentary to the propaganda TV channel Match TV. The confidant of dictator Vladimir Putin in the so-called 2018 elections and an employee of the Russian Defense Ministry noted that she would participate in tournaments in Russia.

"I'm still on vacation, doing my own thing. I can't say for sure what format the next season will be in. Many will get neutral statuses and travel to international competitions. Unfortunately, I am not in this story for various reasons, and it is impossible for me to get a neutral status. However, I am not going to leave. In two weeks, I'm flying to Kislovodsk for the first training camp, so I'll keep fit and go to the competitions where we are expected. As the saying goes, you get what you get," Yegoryan said.

Earlier, Russian saber fencer Sofia Pozdnyakova admitted that she had been following the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris with interest, but forgot to mention Harlan's gold medal.
