"It's good that Oleksandr doesn't understand much": Fury's real words during a meeting with Usyk in London revealed
World Boxing Council (WBC) belt holder Tyson Fury showed great respect for Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) before a press conference in London, where their face-to-face fight for the title of absolute world champion was announced on November 16. While talking to journalists, the Briton was working for the camera and made a real trash talk.
This was stated in an interview with DAZN by the Ukrainian boxer's promoter Oleksandr Krasiuk. He noted that Fury behaves completely differently off camera. In a conversation with Usyk's team backstage at the press conference, Tyson showed that he understood how difficult the fight was going to be.
"It's good that Oleksandr is not a native English speaker, so he doesn't understand much. Tyson turns into a different character when the camera turns on, but Tyson is learning boxing and he knows what kind of fight he's in for and we treat him with respect. When we met face to face before the press conference, Tyson showed a lot of respect for Usyk and said a lot of things that I really liked about him. He said: "Who wins depends on God, no matter how hard you work. There is only one winner, and anything can happen." I agree with him, but to rely on God, you need to work hard," said Krasiuk.
We would like to remind you that the UK has already started talking about another postponement of the Usyk-Fury fight. And the Ukrainian's team named the main difficulties Oleksandr faced in preparing for the fight. In addition, our compatriot urged journalists not to ask him about Tyson. During the WBC congress in Tashkent, a local media representative touched Usyk by asking him a question in Ukrainian.
Earlier, bookmakers abruptly changed their quotes for the Usyk-Fury fight. For his part, Oleksandr spoke about what he would do after defeating Tyson, who recorded a video message to the Ukrainian with a promise to knock him out by the end of the fourth round.
News from the British boxer's training camp was also announced. And the legendary Evander Holyfield explained why Usyk will win the fight against Fury. The Ukrainian did not disclose his tactical plan for the fight.
The legendary Russian champion Kostya Tszyu gave his prediction for the fight between the Ukrainian and the British. The Gypsy King himself admitted that he was not interested in the title of absolute champion.
As OBOZ.UA reported, John Fury spoke about the problems of his boxer son before the fight with Oleksandr Usyk. And the WBC announced the contenders for the fight against the winner of Fury and Usyk.
