Residents of Moscow's Airport district complained about the unpleasant smell of sh*t near the VTB Arena, which appeared in late January. According to them, it was caused by the area around the stadium that had been fertilized with manure.

Local residents claim that the smell is so strong that it cannot be drowned out by anything

"When you walk past the VTB Arena, it's impossible to breathe at all, it stinks so badly that even a mask doesn't help. You get to the metro, take off your mask, and it feels like you can smell manure in your nose for several hours," MSK1.RU quoted a local resident as saying.

The VTB Arena itself denied any involvement in the situation, saying that they did not understand what was going on. At the same time, locals say that they immediately recognized the source of the smell because they saw with their own eyes how manure was scattered on the lawns near the stadium.

The district administration was also unable to offer a solution, suggesting that the fertilizers could have been brought in by the lawn's balance holders. According to the cadastre, this place belongs to the territory of the sports complex.

Despite the fact that the lawns have been covered, the problem has not yet been solved. Gardening experts explained that the unpleasant odor will disappear only in the spring, when the manure begins to rot.
