The match of the 14th round of the English Premier League between Manchester City and Tottenham ended in a refereeing scandal. The match's chief referee, Simon Hooper, made two controversial decisions at the end of the match, provoking a violent reaction from City players.

In the 94th minute, with the score tied 3-3, Tottenham defender Emerson brought down Erling Holland in Manchester City's half of the field. Hooper was about to blow the whistle, but changed his mind.

The leader of the Norwegian national team jumped up and gave an accurate pass to Jack Grealish. The City midfielder began to run one-on-one toward the Tottenham goal, and at that moment the referee stopped the match.

Despite the fact that Emerson received a yellow card as a result of the episode, ManCity players began to express to the referee everything they thought about him in a harsh manner.

Three minutes later, Oliver Skipp brought down Manuel Akandja in the Tottenham penalty area. No penalty was awarded, and the match ended 3-3.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Tottenham's South Korean striker Son Heung-min scored a rare goal in this game. The captain of the visitors scored with an interval of 4 minutes in between.
