In Russia, fans called fascists for whistling at the governor and condemning the war and not allowed to enter the stadium
The general director of Lada Togliatti, Aleksandr Chebotarev, got into a conflict with the team's fans after they booed the governor of the Samara region. The official closed the sector for the hockey ultras and called them fascists, with whom he "is not going to put up with".
Chebotarev said this in an interview with the Ice YouTube channel, Sports.ru reports. The general director of the Togliatti club of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) also complained that fans on Internet forums condemned the actions of the Russian authorities and the war in Ukraine.
"All these things about booing the governor-they were making these calls. Fans on their forums expressed various negative opinions about the current government, about the military conflict (as the war in Ukraine is shamefully called in Russia - ed.), and appeared with fascist swastikas in the sector. I am not going to put up with fascists. My grandfather was killed, and my other grandfather came home from the war disabled. No. If they are so independent, they should ensure hygiene in their ranks," Chebotarev said.
Earlier, two-time Olympic champion Boris Mikhailov made a foolish comment that the Russian national hockey team is not allowed to participate in international tournaments because of fears of rivalry.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head coach of the Russia-25 hockey team Roman Rotenberg went into a puppy-like rapture over the birthday of Chechen State Duma deputy General Adam Delimkhanov and became a laughingstock on the Internet.
